With the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, the Temple Bar Inn would like to reassure customers of our commitment to the wellbeing of our guests, staff, and the wider community.

We are closely monitoring the information provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE) and frequently implementing new procedures.

These new procedures and preparatory measures have been put in place to assist our guests and to mitigate the potential risks posed to public health and our hotel by COVID-19.

Hand hygiene

Frequent and thorough hand washing is pivotal to combating the spread of the virus. Our team has been reminded that this simple act can save lives. As such, retraining on proper hand washing techniques has been conducted. Our housekeeping teams wear disposable gloves that are changed after every usage.

Hygiene protocols and social distancing

Additional hygiene protocols are also necessary to stop the spread of any virus.

Hand sanitisers have been placed in all public areas and at all staff stations.

We provide paper tissues and have closed bins for disposing of used tissues.

To comply with social distancing, we have reduced the seating capacity in our dining area. This ensures that there is a minimum distance of 2 meters between tables. Our buffet breakfast has been replaced by a freshly made to order menu direct from our kitchen. As always, our team is on hand to ensure our guests' dietary needs are met.

Ongoing training

In addition to training on housekeeping and hand washing/ hygiene protocols, our team have also completed enhanced COVID-19 awareness training. Action plans have been put in place for all scenarios.

Our commitment to cleanliness

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Our hotel uses cleaning products and protocols which are effective against a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19.

1) Guest rooms: The hotel uses cleaning and disinfecting protocols and tools to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high touch items. Disinfecting chemicals are used throughout.

2) Public spaces: The hotel has increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the counter at the front desk, elevators and elevator buttons, door handles, public restrooms, and the beverage station.

3) Linens and towels are sent offsite for thorough washing.

4) Room keys provided to guests on their check in have been disinfected prior.
